Job Description
Civil Core Talent is partnering with a reputable heavy civil contractor to identify a Superintendent for a field leadership role based in Salt Lake City, Utah. This organization is recognized for delivering infrastructure projects with a strong focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction. We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to assume full responsibility for the successful execution of assigned projects. This role oversees and coordinates Foremen, field labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials, ensuring efficient daily operations, adherence to safety standards, and alignment with project schedules and specifications. The Superintendent is accountable for maintaining productivity and driving projects to completion on time and within budget. Working closely with Project Managers, you will support project planning, coordination, and scheduling while collaborating with internal teams, subcontractors, and public agencies. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Experience with DOT projects is required. The selected candidate will play a key role in driving field excellence and contributing to the continued success of a high-performing and growth-focused organization. Key Responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate the ability of organization and time management and attention to detail.
- Willing to travel between multiple job sites
- Must effectively lead and manage multiple Foreman, their daily activities and production, and promote safe, efficient and timely construction projects.
- Perform project implementation by understanding plans and specs. Coordinate and make recommendations to Project Managers that will improve construction methods and costs.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Owners, Field Engineers, and Internal Management. Work well with Subcontractors for uninterrupted workflow.
- Routinely inspects the project to determine correct sequencing of work and survey for potential hazards and safety concerns, inspects work progress to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds specifications and company standards.
- Identify and resolve problems, conflicts and on-site issues and emergencies
- Order necessary equipment, tools and materials for projects and crew
- Write daily logs and other necessary documentation
- Schedule meetings for inspections with proper agencies and companies
- Establish and maintain a rolling 3 week schedule to keep project on budget and time
- Keep job seat organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection.

- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum 5+ years experience in heavy civil construction
- Must have DOT experience
- Must have 5 years supervisory experience
- Must have working knowledge of computers, and construction industry software.
- Demonstrate strong organization and problem-solving skills
- Must have driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA Certified a plus
- Must be over age 18 and legal to work in the

- $100,000 - $130,000 - Compensation based on experience, education, and certifications
