Role Overview We are seeking a high-energy, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to lead our growth efforts in the commercial sector. This role is responsible for identifying, developing, and securing new project opportunities across Southern Utah. The ideal candidate is a well-connected professional who understands the local construction landscape and thrives on creating opportunities through strategic networking and early-stage project involvement.Key Responsibilities Lead Generation & Pipeline Management:
Proactively identify and qualify new commercial construction opportunities within target sectors, including industrial, hospitality, retail, tenant improvement and municipal projects.Relationship Management:
Cultivate and maintain strong connections with developers, architects, engineers, municipal leaders, and property owners in the St. George area.Market Intelligence:
Stay informed on local zoning changes, city council approvals, and upcoming bid opportunities to position the company for early involvement.Strategic Collaboration:
Work closely with the Estimating and Operations teams to ensure a seamless transition from lead to contract. Provide market insights that help tailor our proposals to specific client needs.Brand Ambassadorship:
Represent JMI Constructors at industry events, trade shows, and community gatherings to increase brand visibility and reinforce our reputation as a premier builder.Lead Tracking:
Maintain records of the sales pipeline, from initial contact through award, ensuring all stakeholder data and project notes are accurate and up-to-date.Qualifications Experience:
5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or project management within the construction or real estate industry.Local Expertise:
A deep understanding of the Southern Utah construction market and an established professional network in the region.Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex project scopes to diverse audiences.Technical Proficiency:
Strong computer skills, including experience with construction management and productivity software. Familiarity with the following is highly preferred: Buildertrend (for project tracking and client communication) Bluebeam Revu (for document review and markups) Microsoft Excel (for financial modeling and lead analysis)Education:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).Who You Are Self-Starter:
