Construction Superintendent/Project Manager Syrus Construction Annandale, VA Job Details Full-time From $75,000 a year 4 hours ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Computer operation Construction industry experience Construction team management Computer skills Full Job Description Commercial Construction Project Superintendent / Project Manager Syrus Construction is seeking an experienced construction professional to manage multiple commercial and multifamily renovation projects. This is a hands-on position combining field supervision and office-based project management. Syrus Construction self-performs a significant portion of its construction work and performs a substantial amount of design-build work. The successful candidate will directly manage and coordinate our field personnel while maintaining responsibility for project quality, scheduling, materials, and overall execution. This position reports directly to the COO. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple commercial interior and multifamily residential renovation projects simultaneously. Supervise and coordinate Syrus Construction field personnel and direct reports. Maintain project schedules and coordinate manpower across assigned projects. Monitor work in the field to ensure quality, productivity, and compliance with project requirements. Review drawings, scopes of work, and field conditions and communicate requirements to field personnel. Participate in design-build projects, including coordination of field conditions, constructability, design requirements, and practical construction solutions. Work with management, design professionals, field personnel, and subcontractors to resolve design and construction issues. Develop material takeoffs and material lists based on drawings, field conditions, and project requirements. Obtain and compare material pricing and bids from suppliers and vendors. Coordinate material ordering and deliveries to maintain project schedules. Coordinate subcontractors and outside trades when required. Identify field issues early and develop practical solutions to keep projects moving. Communicate project status, scheduling concerns, material requirements, and other issues to the COO. Assist with project planning, estimating, and closeout as needed. Maintain organized project documentation and communication across multiple active projects. Qualifications 3-5 years of construction experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, Project Manager, or similar position. Experience supervising construction personnel and coordinating work in the field. Commercial interior construction and/or multifamily residential renovation experience strongly preferred. Design-build construction experience is a plus. Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. Ability to evaluate field conditions and help develop practical construction solutions. Working knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, materials, and scheduling. Ability to develop material lists and obtain competitive supplier pricing. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Comfortable working both in the field and in an office environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills and ability to work with standard project documentation and software. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between active project sites. Spanish language skills are a plus.
