- Commercial Construction Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Superintendent
- Commercial Construction to lead on-site execution for mid
- to large-scale commercial projects.
The Superintendent will be responsible for daily site supervision, schedule and quality control, safety and OSHA compliance, subcontractor coordination, and clear communication with Project Management, clients and stakeholders. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day on-site supervision of all construction activities, ensuring work is performed safely, to specification and on schedule. Coordinate and manage subcontractors, trade contractors and on-site workforce to maintain productivity and quality standards. Implement and enforce safety programs, OSHA requirements and site-specific safety plans; conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks. Manage project schedule using CPM scheduling principles and tools such as MS Project; proactively identify and mitigate schedule risks and delays. Oversee quality control and workmanship, conduct inspections, coordinate corrective actions and ensure compliance with contract documents. Prepare, review and manage RFIs, submittals, daily reports, logs and other project documentation in Procore or equivalent construction management systems. Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor budget, track costs, support procurement and request/approve change orders as required. Coordinate material deliveries, site logistics and staging to optimize productivity and minimize disruptions. Lead pre-construction and pre-installation meetings with trades, coordinate inspections and ensure readiness for testing and commissioning. Communicate effectively with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors and municipal authorities to resolve issues and secure approvals. Support closeout activities including punch lists, as-built documentation, warranties, turnover packages and final inspections. Mentor and lead field personnel, promote a culture of continuous improvement, teamwork and professional development.
Qualifications Required:
Proven Superintendent experience in commercial construction with a track record of successfully completed projects.
Required skills:
Superintendent, Construction, Commercial Construction (demonstrated experience supervising commercial builds). Knowledge and application of OSHA standards and site safety management; OSHA 30 preferred, OSHA 10 acceptable. Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred), MS Project and CPM scheduling methodologies. Strong experience with subcontractor management, RFIs, submittals, procurement coordination and daily reporting. Experience with a range of commercial market types is a plus: Healthcare, Industrial, Tilt-up, Shell, QSR/Restaurant, Offices, K-12, Residential, Medical, Retail, Entertainment/Hospitality. Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills; ability to work collaboratively with Project Management and project stakeholders. Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites; physical ability to perform site visits and inspections. High school diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
Certifications and licenses a plus:
OSHA 30, certifications in construction safety, first aid/CPR or industry-specific credentials. Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain detailed project records and support timely closeout and turnover.
