Job Description The Superintendent will be responsible for: Leading all day-to-day field operations for commercial construction projects. Managing ground-up projects from site mobilization through project completion. Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, architects, owners, and internal project teams. Reviewing and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Conducting constructability reviews and proactively resolving field challenges. Developing and maintaining project schedules, ensuring milestones are achieved. Overseeing site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce planning. Maintaining detailed daily reports, progress updates, and project documentation. Enforcing quality control standards and ensuring work meets project specifications. Championing jobsite safety and maintaining compliance with OSHA regulations. Partnering closely with Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of each project. Serving as the primary on-site leader, driving successful project execution and client satisfaction. The Successful Applicant A successful Superintendent should have: 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor. Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects valued at $20M+. Ability to independently lead large-scale projects, ideally up to $40M. Experience within K-12, municipal, community, government, or similar commercial sectors. Strong understanding of construction documents, scheduling, and field operations. Experience coordinating with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project teams. OSHA 30-Hour Certification required. Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected, and related construction technology platforms. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities. Must be willing to travel throughout Northern Virginia and surrounding project locations.
