VP of Operations Position Summary A growing construction company is seeking a Production Manager to oversee critical aspects of production, scheduling, contract compliance, and operational processes. This is a leadership position responsible for ensuring jobs are properly contracted, scheduled, documented, and managed for profitability. The Production Manager will work closely with Sales, Production, Project Management, installers, suppliers, and homeowners to ensure projects move efficiently from contract through completion. This individual will identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce costs, strengthen accountability, and support continued company growth. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple teams and priorities in a fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Financial & Job Profitability Oversee accounts receivable (AR) aging and coordinate final balance collections. Track and improve job profitability across projects. Maintain accurate job budgets and monitor cost-per-square metrics. Identify opportunities to reduce installation, labor, and production costs. Monitor project financial performance and identify potential issues requiring attention. Contract & Compliance Management Vet contracts for accuracy, completeness, and approval prior to production. Conduct regular meetings with the Sales team to train and reinforce proper contract-writing procedures. Communicate with Sales Representatives regarding contract requirements and change orders. Ensure job documentation and invoices are properly uploaded and maintained within the appropriate systems. Maintain compliance with established company processes and production requirements. Scheduling & Production Operations Manage team members responsible for job scheduling. Coordinate scheduling between installers, homeowners, and Sales Representatives. Oversee interior work scheduling and installation operations. Monitor production schedules and proactively address scheduling conflicts or delays. Coordinate materials, labor, installers, and other resources to support efficient project completion. Installer & Supplier Management Develop and maintain strong working relationships with installers and suppliers/distributors. Coordinate with installation partners to ensure projects are properly staffed and scheduled. Assist with resolving production, material, scheduling, and installation issues. Monitor installer performance and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and cost control. Systems & Documentation Utilize AccuLynx and other CRM/project management systems to oversee materials ordering, job documentation, scheduling, and project information. Ensure invoices, contracts, change orders, and other required documentation are accurately maintained. Maintain accurate and up-to-date job information across company systems. Training & Development Conduct training sessions for Sales, Production, and Project Management personnel. Provide ongoing guidance regarding contract accuracy, scheduling procedures, documentation, profitability, and operational processes. Identify recurring issues and develop training or process improvements to prevent them. Strategic Operations & Growth Evaluate existing production and operational processes and recommend improvements. Make strategic adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce labor and installation costs. Assist leadership with expansion planning and execution. Support the development and implementation of processes that allow the organization to scale effectively. Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by leadership. Previous experience in production management, operations management, project coordination, or a similar leadership role. Strong understanding of job costing, profitability, budgets, and operational metrics. Experience managing scheduling teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders. Experience reviewing contracts and construction documentation. Strong communication and training skills. Experience working with CRM, project management, or construction management software. AccuLynx experience strongly preferred. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and hold others accountable. Compensation & Time Off 1099
Independent Contractor Annual Compensation:
$75,000
Performance-Based Compensation Review:
Compensation may be reviewed annually based on performance. The Production Manager may be eligible for an annual increase of up to 3% , based on performance evaluation and company discretion. The increase is not guaranteed.
Paid Time Off:
2 weeks of PTO, including sick and personal time, as provided under the applicable independent contractor agreement. The Production Manager will serve as a key connection point between Sales, Production, Project Management, installers, suppliers, and homeowners while helping leadership build scalable processes for continued growth.
