Full Job Description Senior Construction Manager Location:
Hampton Roads, VA Position Summary Browning Consulting Services (BCS) is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead construction management, owner's representation, and project advisory services on municipal infrastructure projects throughout Virginia. The successful candidate may come from an owner, consulting, or contractor background and will serve as a trusted advisor to public-sector clients during planning, construction, commissioning, and project closeout activities. This position requires a highly motivated professional capable of independently managing complex projects, coordinating multiple stakeholders, and providing technically sound recommendations that support successful project delivery. Primary Responsibilities Project Leadership Lead construction management assignments on municipal infrastructure projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for owners and project stakeholders. Facilitate communication among owners, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Identify and mitigate project risks. Support project decision-making throughout construction. Construction Administration Review RFIs, submittals, change orders, schedule updates, claims, and pay applications. Monitor contractor performance and compliance with contract requirements. Assist owners in evaluating construction-related issues and potential impacts. Coordinate with designers regarding technical and construction concerns. Project Controls Monitor schedule performance and project milestones. Track project budgets and contingency usage. Evaluate schedule delays and recovery efforts. Maintain project logs and construction documentation. Develop executive-level progress reports. Minimum Qualifications 10+ years of experience managing infrastructure construction projects. Experience managing projects on behalf of owners, consulting firms, construction management firms, or contractors. Demonstrated leadership experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
