Senior Preconstruction Manager - Newport News, Virginia A leading, well-established General Contractor is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to provide leadership, strategy, and direction across major construction projects from early pursuit through to subcontractor buyout. With a strong pipeline of work across the Hampton Roads region (including Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Newport News, Hampton, and Williamsburg), this is a key hire driven by internal progression, offering genuine long-term career growth. The Role You will lead the full preconstruction lifecycle on large, complex projects (typically $60M-$80M, with flagship schemes exceeding $100M), overseeing estimating, client engagement, and trade partner coordination.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the preconstruction process from pursuit to project handover Managing and mentoring the estimating team Producing conceptual and detailed cost estimates and budgets Leading value engineering and cost management strategies Building strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors Supporting bids, proposals, and client presentations Overseeing trade partner solicitation and subcontractor buyout Driving best practices, systems, and continuous improvement across preconstruction Ensuring seamless transition from preconstruction into delivery About You 10+ years' preconstruction/estimating experience with a General Contractor Management experience leading teams and client relationships Background across sectors such as multi-family, hospitality, industrial, commercial, healthcare, or education Strong commercial awareness and technical understanding of construction methods Proficient with estimating and construction software (Bluebeam, Microsoft Office; AutoCAD/Revit advantageous) Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Why Apply?
