As a superintendent at McBride Construction, your role will be to plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerned with reconstruction with emphasis on safety, scheduling, jobsite logistics, organization, equipment and manpower utilization. Prepare work schedules and keep them updated. Direct, coordinate and monitor the activities of crews, subcontractors, and suppliers. Participate in the conceptual development of construction projects and oversee their organization. Candidates should also be forward-thinking, creative, organized and self-directed. We are seeking a proven leader with prior experience in large-scale reconstruction, managing employees, interacting with ownership groups, engineers, and other project stakeholders while working in a team environment and completing the project on time. Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4 years managing envelope projects and at least a decade in the industry. A degree or certificate in Construction Management or related field is preferred. Candidates must have a complete understanding of reconstruction procedures including general shell, RWB, interior and exterior finishes and the ability to thoroughly understand architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings. Required Education /
Experience:
- Associate's degree in construction management or a long tenured journeyman carpenter with no less than a decade of progressively increasing responsibility and experience.
- Thorough knowledge in all phases of construction
- Comfortable and persuasive in negotiations and client meetings
- Organized, self-directed and has excellent leadership ability
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and scheduling software including Microsoft Project
- While this position is not considered primarily bags-on, our superintendents should be capable of some bags-on work.
