$120,000-$140,000 DOE Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to oversee day-to-day field operations for civil construction projects throughout Washington State. This position is responsible for leading field crews, coordinating subcontractors and equipment, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on field leader with 8+ years of civil construction experience and a strong background in earthwork, site development, underground utilities, grading, excavation, and related civil scopes. This individual should be comfortable taking ownership of field operations and working closely with project management teams to keep projects moving forward. Key Responsibilities Manage and oversee daily field operations on civil construction projects. Lead field crews, foremen, subcontractors, and equipment operators. Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, and deliveries to maintain project schedules. Plan and sequence construction activities to maximize productivity and efficiency. Oversee earthwork, excavation, grading, site development, underground utilities, stormwater systems, and other civil scopes. Review project plans, specifications, schedules, and scope requirements. Identify potential field conflicts and proactively work with the project team to develop solutions. Monitor project progress and communicate schedule, manpower, and field needs with Project Managers. Conduct daily and weekly planning to ensure upcoming work is properly staffed and coordinated. Ensure work is performed according to plans, specifications, applicable codes, and quality standards. Maintain a safe and organized jobsite and enforce company and OSHA safety requirements. Conduct safety meetings and ensure crews follow established safety procedures. Coordinate inspections and work with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders. Track field production and assist with documentation of project progress, delays, changes, and site conditions. Maintain accurate daily reports, including manpower, equipment, work completed, deliveries, and jobsite conditions. Support project closeout, punch-list completion, and turnover. Represent the company professionally with clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and project partners. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of civil construction experience required. Previous experience as a Civil Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership position. Strong experience with earthwork, excavation, grading, underground utilities, site development, and civil construction operations . Proven ability to successfully lead crews and manage multiple field activities simultaneously. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, grades, elevations, and civil plans. Knowledge of construction sequencing, production planning, equipment utilization, and jobsite logistics. Ability to identify problems in the field and make timely, practical decisions. Strong understanding of construction safety practices and OSHA requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, subcontractors, inspectors, engineers, and clients. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing changing project priorities. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required. Preferred Experience Commercial and industrial site development. Large-scale excavation and mass grading. Storm, sanitary sewer, and water systems. Roadwork and paving preparation. Demolition and site preparation. Managing multiple crews and pieces of heavy equipment. Experience working on projects throughout the Puget Sound and greater Washington market.
