Job Description

Position Title:
School-Age Program Supervisor (Split Shift) -
East Building Schedule:
School Year:
Split Shift - 5:45 am-9:00 am and 4:00 pm-6:00 pm (Mon-Thu); 2:30 pm-6:00 pm (Fri) 
Bus Driver:
9:00 am-9:30 am and 3:15 pm-4:00 pm (Mon-Thu); 1:45 pm-2:30 pm (Fri) 
Average Hours:
35-40 hours per week during the school year 
Summer:
Full-Time (Before & After School Program) 
Additional Requirement:
Availability to work longer, full-day shifts on non-school days (school breaks, holidays, and closures)
Age Group:
5-12 years old
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, experienced, and proactive Supervisor to support our East Building school-age program. This position plays a key leadership role in ensuring a safe, engaging, and well-managed environment for children ages 5-12 during before and after school care. The Supervisor works closely with the Director and is responsible for daily operations, staff support, and maintaining program quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
 Provide on-site leadership during before and after school program hours  Serve as the main point of contact between the East Building and the Director, communicating important updates, concerns, and incidents in a timely manner  Ensure all closing procedures are completed thoroughly each day, including cleaning, organization, and classroom readiness  Monitor program quality and ensure adherence to licensing standards and policies  Support staff in managing classroom routines, transitions, and supervision of children  Address and document behavioral concerns; collaborate with staff and Director on appropriate guidance strategies  Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills to handle day-to-day challenges effectively and calmly  Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff  Ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for all children  Support full-day programming and supervision on non-school days as needed
Qualifications:
 Must be at least 18 years old (25+ in order to be a bus driver)  Meets Washington State Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) requirements for a School-Age Program Supervisor/Site Lead  Minimum 12 college credits in Early Childhood Education, School-Age Care, or a related field (or ability to obtain)  Ability to complete 30 total college credits within 5 years, as required by DCYF  Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)  Must complete all required DCYF trainings, including School-Age Basics and annual STARS hours  Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or school-age program required  Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred  Clean driving record

 Dependable and self-motivated  Interested in long-term employment  Calm and confident in handling challenging situations  Team-oriented with a supportive leadership style  Detail-oriented, especially with health, safety, and cleaning expectations
Physical Requirements:
 Ability to actively supervise children indoors and outdoors  Ability to lift, move, and engage in activities with children as needed
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
