Job Description

Traveling Construction Superintendent
  • Petroleum and Fuel Systems
  • Base Salary to 140k/year
  • Longview, WA Our client, a multi-state design-build contractor specializing in commercial and petroleum construction, is seeking a Traveling Construction Superintendent to oversee fuel system and gas station construction projects across the United States.
This is a full travel role (up to 80%) , supporting projects nationwide. Candidates can be based anywhere in the continental United States, with preference for those located in western regions.
Responsibilities:
Manage field operations for petroleum construction projects, including gas stations, underground fuel tanks (UST), and fuel piping systems Coordinate daily jobsite activities, including subcontractors, labor, equipment, and materials in active outdoor construction environments Partner with Project Managers during preconstruction to support scheduling, estimating, and budgeting Read and interpret construction drawings, site plans, and grading specifications Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with safety and environmental standards Oversee installation and layout of fuel systems, piping, and related infrastructure , using hand and power tools as needed Conduct regular site inspections and provide progress updates to internal teams and stakeholders Manage permitting and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations Track job costs, materials, and inventory Enforce jobsite safety standards, including the use of appropriate protective equipment, and communicate with safety personnel as needed
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Valid driver's license required; CDL may be required based on project scope and equipment operation needs 5+ years of construction experience with strong exposure to grading, equipment operation, and blueprint reading Direct experience with underground fuel tanks (UST) and fuel piping systems for gas station or petroleum projects Supervisory experience managing field crews on construction projects Ability to travel up to 80% across the United States Ability to work in outdoor conditions and on active construction sites, including lifting materials up to 50 lbs as needed Ability to meet jobsite safety and regulatory requirements, including compliance with DOT physical certification and routine safety testing, as applicable to the role Compensation Base salary in the 120k
