Job Description

Northwest Construction Cooperative, a mission-driven employee-owned general contractor specializing in residential renovations and high-performance new construction, is looking for a Site Supervisor to join our growing team. The Site Supervisor works as the on-site project manager and carpenter completing all phases of residential framing, finish work, and other carpentry and construction tasks. The Site Supervisor's primary responsibility is to ensure the execution of profitable production activities that support the goals of the company. Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of project management experience along with 5 or more years experience in residential construction projects and is interested in building a career at Northwest Construction Cooperative. Hands-on trades experience and/or project estimating experience is a plus. We will also consider candidates who have completed a construction management program, as well as other individuals with the right mix of experience and ambition.
EXPECTATIONS
(including, but not limited to, the following): Ensure all carpentry and specialty trades work is performed according to the construction documents while performing carpentry and requesting support as needed. Attend all company/client meetings requested by the Project Manager. Inform the Project Manager of the progress of the project, including any customer concerns, problems, delays, changes, etc. on a daily basis. Perform and assist in material take-offs as directed by the Project Manager. Supervise the activities of the company's field carpenters, suppliers, and subcontractors, which include oral and written communication as needed. Be responsible for the efficient and profitable use of the company's time, labor power, and materials on each project. Ensure company and customer satisfaction through professional appearance, expert quality work and friendly and effective communication. Ensure the image of the company is supported by the appearance and activities of the crew and job sites.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and lead the construction of various projects from foundation to substantial completion. Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding project schedule, ordering, and sequencing. Perform carpentry, requesting support as needed Assist with material takeoffs and orders Lead, supervise and instruct all internal labor crews when performing work on-site Manage subcontractor crews on site, site logistics, and answer questions; directing subcontractors questions to the Project Manager as needed Coordinate site logistics, maintaining a safe and clean job site, managing the storage of materials and equipment on-site Assist with time sheet entries Monitor project quality, making corrections, and inform Project Manager of needed corrections Construct projects per project plans and documents, monitor and identify constructability issues Monitor and enforce safety requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Five or more years experience in leading residential construction projects Three or more years in a project management position Have sufficient tools and reliable transportation: Tool List will be provided upon hiring. Have experience reading and building from architectural plans, project documents Have desire to work with integrated team on custom projects with various clients Be dedicated to professionalism, profitability, client satisfaction, and have a high attention to detail Hard working, good communicator, great attitude Spanish speaking a plus but not required Experience with High Performance building assemblies preferred Lead RRP Certification - plus but not required PHIUS Builder Certification - plus but not required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Prolonged standing, climbing, bending and kneeling The ability to lift up to 50 lbs at a time Must be able to safely work with sharp tools or power equipment The ability to work in a variety of weather conditions The ability to work safely on ladders and elevated platforms Possess manual dexterity, balance and hand-eye coordination
