Civil Construction Superintendent

Job Summary Janicki General Contracting is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on heavy civil projects. This role is responsible for overall jobsite execution, including supervising foremen, coordinating subcontractors, managing resources, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This is a field leadership role requiring strong experience in earthwork, underground utilities, and site development, along with the ability to drive production and hold teams accountable. Key Responsibilities Oversee all day-to-day field operations across civil construction projects Supervise Foremen, subcontractors, operators, and labor crews Plan and coordinate work sequencing to meet production and schedule goals Ensure all work aligns with plans, specifications, and contract requirements Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource allocation; communicate variances Lead jobsite safety efforts, including inspections, meetings, and enforcement of OSHA standards Maintain quality control through regular inspections and field oversight Coordinate closely with Project Managers on schedules, RFIs, change orders, and project updates Identify and resolve field issues to keep projects moving efficiently Maintain accurate daily reports, job logs, and project documentation Support hiring, training, and performance management of field personnel Minimum Requirements (Must Have) 10+ years of civil construction experience (earthwork, utilities, site development) 5+ years of experience supervising crews, foremen, and subcontractors Proven ability to manage multi-phase or large-scale civil projects Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and safety regulations High-level ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and contract documents Experience managing schedules, budgets, and field production Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in all weather conditions and manage active construction sites Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Preferred Qualifications

CDL OSHA

Certification, CESCL, First Aid/CPR Experience with project management software (Procore, Bluebeam, etc.) Why Join JGC? Pay:

$44.47 - $75.00 per hour
