Job Description

Are you looking for a unique, dynamic role where your hard work behind the scenes directly impacts the health, safety, and joy of young children? Wenatchee Christian Early Learning is seeking a Facility Specialist & Float Aide to join our team. This hybrid role is the perfect blend of ministry, classroom engagement, and environmental care. As needed during peak hours, you will serve as a vital "float" classroom aide, stepping in to support teachers and engage with students. After hours, you will transition into maintaining our facilities—ensuring our classrooms, restrooms, and play spaces are deeply sanitized, spotless, and ready for the next day's big adventures. Key Responsibilities Classroom & Teacher Support (Daytime/Float Hours)
  • Interact and teach students across all age groups (12 months - 12 years).
  • Assist lead teachers in executing daily lesson plans, crafts, activities, and supervising indoor/outdoor play.
  • Assist with the fundamental needs of our younger students, including snack time, transitions, and bathroom/diapering routines.
  • Act as a reliable substitute or extra set of hands in classrooms when teachers need to step out or when extra supervision is required. Environmental Health & Custodial Care (After-Hours/Evening)
  • Perform comprehensive cleaning and disinfecting of classrooms, toys, restrooms, and common areas to maintain a healthy, germ-free environment for our growing learners.
  • Conduct thorough sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal across all facilities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of windows, glass doors, and fixtures to uphold a professional, welcoming appearance for families.
  • Restock essential hygiene and breakroom supplies (soap, paper towels, tissue) so teachers are fully equipped for the next day.
  • Follow strict safety protocols regarding cleaning chemicals and equipment, ensuring everything is securely stored away from children. What We're Looking For
  • You genuinely enjoy the company of children and are comfortable working in an environment that incorporates Christian teachings and prayer into the daily routine.
  • You are flexible enough to jump from comforting a toddler to deep-cleaning a classroom with a positive, energetic attitude.
  • You take pride in creating a spotless, organized environment. You understand that a clean classroom is a safe classroom.
  • Ability to keep up with active kids during the day and perform commercial cleaning tasks (lifting, bending, operating basic floor care equipment) in the evening.
  • Previous experience in childcare, custodial work, or facilities maintenance is a major plus, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are what matter most!
