Woodworking Full Job Description Job Description Summary:
Coordinates, budgets and supervises construction projects from start to finish while simultaneously performing trade work. Ensuring projects are completely safely, on time and within budget. This is a working position, which means hands on work is a daily requirement (subject to priority). Hiring of Subcontractors (3 quality bids on file always. Supervisor sign off on any accepted bids is required from start of employment until cleared by supervisor to proceed without approval). Subcontractor Coordination & Scheduling Ensure all subcontractors have current required paperwork on file. Be fully familiarized and have a full understanding of building plans before starting a project. Scheduling and completion of required permit inspections. Quality Control Deep understanding of framing, carpentry, construction details, techniques, etc. Smart budgeting and planning. Haul trailers as needed. Layout work for laborers, plan ahead for gaps/overflow work. Strong clear communication skills. Basic computer skills (e.g. spreadsheets, emails, schedules, etc.). Site layout and grades (Supervisor approval required on any layouts and grades is required from start of employment until cleared by supervisor to proceed without approval). Ensure compliance with building codes and safety regulations. Good time management. A lead on misc. projects and tasks. Fill in for other CM as requested/needed.
