Job Description
The Project Manager/Estimator is responsible for overseeing road construction projects from inception through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with safety regulations and quality standards. The position requires strong leadership abilities, effective communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles and construction processes. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Scheduling Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth execution Address defects and ensure timely corrective actions Budget & Cost Management Prepare and manage project budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost-control measures Maintain accurate WIP reporting and cost-to-complete forecasts throughout project lifecycle Revenue recognition monthly Ensure financial targets are met without compromising quality Prepare submittals and track quantities Timely weekly billings Monitor project performance to ensure work stays on schedule and within budget Maintain organized job files, including pay estimates, contracts, and project documentation Team Leadership & Coordination Lead multidisciplinary teams, assign tasks Foster collaboration between engineers, site supervisors, prime contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and owners Compliance & Safety Ensure adherence to local regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols Conduct regular site inspections and risk assessments Stakeholder Communication Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and internal teams Provide regular progress reports and resolve issues promptly Quality Assurance Implement quality control measures to meet engineering specifications and standards Address defects and ensure timely corrective actions Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field Minimum 5+ years of experience in road construction project management Strong knowledge of general construction practices with a focus on heavy civil work, asphalt paving and maintenance, striping, signage, and associated roadway and bridge work. Proficiency in project management and estimating software (e.g., B2W Estimate, Track and Schedule) Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control and contract administration Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required Preferred PMP or equivalent certification Experience with government-funded infrastructure projects Work Environment Office-based with occasional field visits Fast-paced civil construction environment Team-oriented culture with opportunities for professional growth Why Join Road Products LLC?
