We are looking for someone who is experienced, reliable, and preferably already based in the Spokane area , with strong knowledge of local construction resources and subcontractors. This position is not limited to supervising the work. The selected candidate will play an important role in building and managing the local field team and helping SASCOM identify qualified local workers, equipment operators, subcontractors, concrete contractors, equipment rental companies, and other construction professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and supervise telecom civil construction projects. Manage daily field operations and coordinate crews. Supervise excavation and site preparation for telecom tower foundations. Coordinate rebar, formwork, concrete placement and finishing. Operate or supervise the operation of a mini excavator and other construction equipment. Read and interpret civil/construction plans and drawings. Coordinate workers, subcontractors, equipment and materials. Recruit and help build a reliable local construction crew. Identify and establish relationships with qualified local subcontractors and vendors. Help SASCOM develop a reliable network of construction professionals in the Spokane area. Coordinate concrete suppliers, equipment rental companies, crane operators and other specialized contractors when required. Monitor jobsite safety, quality and productivity. Prepare daily reports and communicate project progress to SASCOM management. Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, schedule and safety requirements.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Extensive experience in civil construction and field supervision. Strong experience with excavation, foundations, concrete, rebar and formwork. Experience with telecom construction, tower foundations or similar infrastructure projects is strongly preferred. Experience operating or supervising mini excavators and construction equipment. Ability to read and understand construction plans. Proven ability to manage construction crews and subcontractors. Strong knowledge of OSHA and jobsite safety requirements. Valid driver's license. Reliable transportation. Strong communication and organizational skills.
LOCAL SPOKANE EXPERIENCE - STRONGLY PREFERRED
Preference will be given to candidates who currently live in or around Spokane and have established relationships with: Local construction workers Equipment operators Concrete contractors Excavation contractors Equipment rental companies Crane operators Civil construction subcontractors Telecom construction professionals The ability to quickly identify and recruit qualified local workers and subcontractors will be considered a major advantage.
AIRPORT PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
The initial project is located at Spokane International Airport . Because the project is located within an airport environment, the selected candidate must be able to meet the applicable background check, security and airport access requirements for unescorted access.
COMPENSATION
$35-$45/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Higher compensation may be considered for an exceptional candidate with extensive telecom/civil construction experience and a strong network of local resources. This position may lead to additional projects and continued work in the Spokane area .
