Construction Project Manager We are looking for a Project Manager who takes ownership, thinks ahead, communicates exceptionally well, and knows how to keep complex projects — and the people involved in them — moving forward. As Project Manager, you are the guide and quarterback of the project. You see the whole field, anticipate what needs to happen next, keep homeowners, trade partners, and teammates aligned, and remain accountable for the overall outcome. This role leads custom home and renovation projects from planning through completion, with responsibility for the client experience, project budget, schedule, coordination, and communication. We value construction experience, but years of experience alone don't determine success. We're looking for someone with an existing construction foundation and the aptitude to continue developing technically, combined with strong leadership, critical thinking, attention to detail, and an ability to build trust with many different kinds of people. What You'll Own Lead custom home and renovation projects from planning through construction and closeout. Serve as the homeowner's trusted guide, communicating clearly, managing expectations, helping clients make informed decisions, and navigating difficult conversations when needed. Communicate effectively in person, by phone, email, and text with homeowners, trade partners, designers, suppliers, Site Supervisors, and teammates. Develop and manage project scopes, budgets, schedules, and execution plans. Own the project budget, including comparing bids, tracking costs and commitments, monitoring changes, reviewing invoices, and keeping project numbers current. Anticipate upcoming needs, decisions, dependencies, and potential roadblocks before they affect the project. Coordinate the people involved in the project, creating clarity around priorities, responsibilities, and next steps. Make timely decisions, solve problems, and rally the team to keep commitments and work moving forward. Maintain high standards for quality, details, documentation, and follow-through. Communicate professionally. Lead the project through a strong closeout and successful homeowner experience. Who You Are You're someone who naturally thinks several steps ahead. You notice when something is off — whether it's a construction detail, two bids that don't align, a number that doesn't make sense, a schedule conflict, or a decision that needs to happen before it becomes a problem. You're comfortable with both people and numbers. You can build trust with a homeowner, adjust your communication style for different personalities, hold a trade partner accountable, and work collaboratively with a team. You can also compare bids, understand and manage a project budget, track changes, and recognize when the numbers don't add up. You don't need to be an accountant — you need to be smart, accurate, and willing to dig into the details. You bring a natural sense of urgency without creating chaos. You establish priorities, follow through, and create momentum by bringing people with you rather than relying on dominance or unnecessary pressure. You're a critical thinker and fast learner who asks good questions, wants to understand how things work, and takes ownership when something needs to be solved. Experience & Qualifications We're looking for someone who brings: Experience within residential construction, remodeling, or a related construction environment. You don't need to know everything, but you should already understand the fundamentals of the industry and how construction projects come together. Demonstrated construction aptitude and the ability to continue building technical knowledge quickly. Experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, deadlines, and multiple competing priorities. Experience working with bids, costs, invoices, spreadsheets, or similar project financial information. Accounting experience is not required. Strong client/customer communication and relationship-building skills across a variety of personalities and communication methods. Strong critical-thinking, problem-solving, organization, and attention to detail. Demonstrated ownership, follow-through, and the ability to create urgency and accountability while working collaboratively with others. Experience managing custom homes or high-end residential renovations is highly valued, but it is not the only path to success in this position. We are open to candidates with relevant construction-industry experience who may not yet have spent years in a custom residential Project Manager role. What Success Looks Like You stay ahead of the project rather than reacting to it. Homeowners feel informed and confidently guided. The team knows what needs to happen next. Budgets and changes are actively managed. Details don't routinely fall through the cracks, and problems are surfaced early and driven toward resolution. You create urgency without creating chaos, use the strengths of the people around you, and own the project outcome.
