Full-time About the Opportunity Allied Geothermal is seeking an organized, motivated Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager to support commercial geothermal drilling and ground loop installation projects from our Madison, Wisconsin location. This role combines project coordination, construction documentation, and hands-on field involvement. You will work closely with Project Managers, field supervisors, drilling crews, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects organized, properly supplied, and moving forward. We are looking for someone who takes ownership, follows through, and wants a long-term career in construction project management. Geothermal experience is helpful, but candidates with relevant construction experience and a strong willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial geothermal drilling and ground loop installation projects. Prepare projects for mobilization by confirming materials, equipment, documentation, and site requirements. Review project drawings, specifications, and contract requirements; identify questions or discrepancies for resolution. Prepare and track requests for information (RFIs), submittals, purchase orders, and project correspondence. Maintain organized project records, including drill logs, daily reports, equipment inspection reports, and safety documentation. Coordinate material orders and deliveries with vendors, field supervisors, and project teams. Assist the Project Manager with progress tracking and communication of upcoming work and potential delays. Document scope changes and prepare supporting information for change orders. Attend project meetings, record action items, and follow up on outstanding needs. Visit job sites to monitor progress, support field operations, and help resolve coordination issues. Assist with project closeout, including completion logs, testing records, as-built documentation, and client deliverables. Follow company safety procedures and support compliance with project-specific requirements. Qualifications At least three years of experience in construction project coordination, project engineering, field operations, or a related role preferred. A degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred; relevant hands-on experience will also be considered. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear communication skills and ability to work effectively with office and field teams. Comfortable using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Google Suite. Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and follow through with minimal supervision. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and willingness to take responsibility for assigned work. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites. Work Environment This role includes work on active construction sites and in on-site offices. Candidates must be comfortable working around drilling equipment and supporting projects in varying weather conditions. Early start times and extended hours may be required based on project needs.
