Description Summary:

The Local Construction Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by facilitating the needs of the customer's job site in the Eastern Iowa market. This includes, but is not limited to ordering material, receiving material at jobsite, providing material coordination and agile construction practices to the jobsite. This individual is an important liaison between Van Meter sales, operations, and targeted contractors in the field. This person exemplifies all safe work practices. This individual promotes our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives\nComplete returns for parts from the jobsite\nMaintain jobsite inventory\nComplete parts requests through ordering, receiving and shipping\nConduct product inspection, and storage at the jobsite\nFlexible and adaptable to change priorities on short notice\nWork closely with Inside Sales and Purchasing\nProvide customer service and support as main contact between Van Meter and specific jobsite personnel\nBuild relationships with site personnel\nSet up and relocate fabrication stations/areas\nClean, stock and remove excess material from work areas\nDeliver parts to needed areas of jobsite\nReceive and distribute deliveries as needed\nKeep work areas clean and orderly\nDeliver, unload, and stage materials on jobsite as needed\nExtended out of state travel to customer job sites\n

Van Meter Job Requirements/Specifications:

High school diploma or GED required\nPrevious customer service experience required\nPrevious distribution center experience preferred\nAbility to lift 70 lbs. on a consistent basis\nAbility to operate lift truck equipment\nAbility to work an extended shift to complete work tasks as needed\nAbility to stand and walk for long periods of time\nDemonstrated computer skills\nKnowledge of Eclipse preferred\nKnowledge of handheld RF scanner is a plus\nForklift operating experience required\nMinimum 2 year commitment required
