Job Description

JOB OBJECTIVE
To provide working supervision and participate in the inspection of the construction repair work of contractors utilized to rehabilitate homes in specific home rehabilitation programs, special projects, or city owned properties within the City of Little Rock and ensure compliance with specifications and applicable federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Home Investment Partnerships Programs (HOME), Home Investment Partnerships Programs - American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP), and HOPWA regulations and guidelines. This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening. For a complete list of essential job functions please click HERE. These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school, and three (3) years of demonstrated work experience with owner occupied rehabilitation projects and experience in housing construction or rehabilitation or building inspection or a related area, to include two (2) years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications, or a related area, one (1) year of lead working experience, and one (1) year of computer experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered .
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must obtain a valid State of Arkansas Lead Based Paint Inspector license within one (1) year of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must obtain a valid Lead Safe Work Practices certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position. Must obtain a valid NSPIRE (National Standards for the Physical Inspection of Real Estate) Certification issued through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development within one (1) year of employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
