The Town of Prescott Valley is seeking an experienced Senior Building Inspector to join our Development Services team. In this role, you'll combine hands-on field inspection and plan review with the opportunity to serve as a technical resource and leader for the inspection team. You'll work directly with contractors, property owners, design professionals, and the public to interpret code requirements, resolve complex construction issues, and help ensure development throughout the Town meets adopted standards and safeguards public health and safety. WE ARE SEEKING A SENIOR BUILDING INSPECTOR WITH
Strong Code Knowledge :
Extensive knowledge of adopted building codes and standards, with the ability to interpret and apply complex code requirements.
Ability to evaluate unusual field conditions and determine appropriate code-compliant solutions.
Leadership & Mentoring:
Ability to provide technical guidance, mentor inspectors, and promote consistent application of codes and department policies.
Professional Communication:
Communicates clearly and professionally with contractors, architects, engineers, property owners, and City staff.
Accurate Documentation:
Produces clear, concise, and defensible inspection reports and maintains complete inspection records.
Plan & Construction Document Review:
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and approved plans while verifying field compliance.
Organization & Accountability:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Post secondary education in a trades program A minimum of four (4) years' journey-level experience in construction inspection ICC or equivalent certifications required: Residential and Commercial Building Inspector and Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Supplemental Information
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid Arizona driver's license and eligible to drive on behalf of the Town. Regular attendance is an essential function of this job to ensure continuity. Supplemental Information
COMPENSATION
The Town's complete compensation package includes salary, benefits, and a high-performance culture. The Town package includes a health, dental, and vision insurance plan, participation in the state retirement system, optional 457 deferred compensation with a town match up to 6%, vacation, holidays, and additional comprehensive benefits.
