DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
This is the entry level class in the Inspector series. Positions in this class typically have little or no directly related work experience. The Inspector I is distinguished from the II level by the performance of less than the full range of duties assigned to the II level.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives immediate supervision from the Senior Inspector.

Prepare and maintain daily inspection reports, claims, photos, progress reports, and other written documentation and project records. Learn to perform pressure tests on completed systems. Learn to perform routine materials and field tests to assure material/workmanship quality. Review construction drawings, plans and specifications. Check delivered materials against approved submittals. Check manufactured products to ensure conformance with Agency standards. Coordinate work with other Agency departments, staff, developers, contractors, utilities and regulatory agencies. Investigate issues and complaints from the public relating to Agency projects. Operate a motor vehicle and other work related equipment. Build and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, other Agency employees and the public using principles of good customer service. Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE OF

Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit.
