UNICO is seeking a seasoned Construction Inspector who has experience dealing with different types of infrastructure including roadways and paving, structures (bridges), curb, gutter, sidewalk, underground utilities, earthwork, etc. Must have 5 years of applicable experience. Must possess a thorough understanding of plans and specifications, Caltrans, and local agency requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include but are not limited to): Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports, project photographs, etc. Coordinate with clients/owners, other consultants, contractors, materials testers and others involved with the project. Assist Resident Engineers and provide input on project schedule, extra work bills, potential change orders, and communication with businesses and residents. Read and interpret project plans and specifications. Monitor construction for compliance with project documents including collecting and checking material tags and certificates of compliance. Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures. Inspect road and bridge construction (based on Caltrans Standards), including checking grades, formwork, rebar placement, concrete batch tickets, curing method, etc. Communicate with project team members and provide recommendations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Excellent communication skills Working knowledge of MS Office Suite Ability to use computer to complete project documentation Thorough understanding of
CAL OSHA
practices and procedures Bridge construction inspection experience required Knowledge of Caltrans procedures and standards highly preferred Ability to pass a pre employment drug screening Clean Drivers license and DMV record required
Education/Experience:
