Quality Manager - Utility-Scale Solar Heartland Solar Project | Mendota, CA | Onsite If you believe quality is built into a project—not inspected into it after the work is finished—keep reading. Per Sé Group is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the onsite quality program for the Heartland Solar Project , a major utility-scale renewable energy development. Reporting to the Construction Site Manager, you'll provide quality leadership across construction while ensuring installations meet contractual requirements, approved drawings, manufacturer specifications, applicable codes, and industry standards. If IFC drawings, EPC Quality Plans, NCRs, First Build, Golden Row inspections, quality surveillance, and civil/structural/mechanical/electrical installations are already part of your world, we should talk. What You'll Do Lead implementation and day-to-day execution of the site Quality Assurance/Quality Control program . Review project agreements, IFC drawings, applicable codes, standards, specifications, installation manuals, and submittals. Review the EPC contractor's Site-Specific Quality Plan and verify implementation in the field. Coordinate pre-construction quality alignment meetings before new construction activities begin. Oversee quality activities across civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction . Develop and implement quality surveillance and deficiency-notification processes. Lead or participate in First Build and Golden Row inspections. Manage and coordinate Quality Inspectors when assigned to the project. Monitor contractor inspection activities and submitted quality-control checklists. Document deviations from established project quality requirements. Issue and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for critical deficiencies and potential systemic issues. Verify installations meet applicable codes, industry standards, manufacturer specifications, project requirements, and required certifications. Verify contractors are using appropriate tools and maintaining required calibration records. Analyze inspection and testing data to identify trends, recurring deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement. Work with project teams and contractors to implement corrective actions and process improvements. Maintain an active lessons-learned log throughout construction. Conduct vendor audits and assessments to verify materials and equipment meet project specifications. Provide quality guidance and training to project personnel and promote continuous improvement. Communicate quality performance, concerns, trends, and corrective actions to project leadership and stakeholders. Coordinate with the Site Safety Manager to integrate safety requirements into quality activities and immediately report unsafe conditions. The Quality Manager provides owner-side quality oversight of EPC execution . The owner's site team observes, verifies, documents, and recommends corrective action based on contractual requirements and industry best practices rather than directing the EPC contractor's means and methods. What You'll Bring 3-5 years of related quality and construction experience. Proven quality management experience within renewable-energy construction . Strong understanding of utility-scale construction quality processes and field inspection practices. Ability to read and interpret IFC drawings, construction specifications, contract exhibits, installation manuals, and technical submittals . Knowledge of renewable-energy systems, equipment, installation practices, and quality requirements. Working knowledge of applicable standards, codes, and regulations related to utility-scale PV, BESS, wind, and/or substation construction . Experience identifying, documenting, and driving resolution of construction quality deficiencies. Strong understanding of NCRs, corrective actions, inspection documentation, and quality surveillance. Knowledge of tool and equipment calibration requirements. Strong analytical skills and ability to recognize quality trends and potential systemic issues. Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of construction safety requirements. Previous experience leading Quality Inspectors or other QA/QC personnel is strongly preferred. This is an onsite field position requiring regular interaction with active construction operations. Candidates must be comfortable walking construction areas, climbing, bending, kneeling, and wearing required PPE.
