Checks building structures and foundations, or provides inspections of electrical systems, plumbing or heating and cooling systems, or building elevators.

What We're Looking For:
Michael Baker International is seeking a Senior Construction Inspector to join our construction services team in Connecticut. The successful candidate will work on a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, including highway, bridge, facilities, railroad , and other transportation improvements throughout Connecticut and the surrounding region.
What You'll Do:
Perform construction inspection and documentation on transportation infrastructure projects, including highway, bridge, facilities, railroad and transit improvements. Verify work is completed in accordance with permits, project plans, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable regulations. Monitor contractor operations, construction methods, materials, and workmanship. Conduct quantity calculations and maintain accurate daily inspection reports and project records. Coordinate with contractors, project managers, designers, utility companies, and client representatives. Review and document material testing results and quality control activities. Identify and communicate construction issues, potential conflicts, and non-conforming work. Assist with field measurement verification, change order documentation, and project closeout activities. What You Need to
Succeed:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field or CMIT Level 4 or NICET Level 3. 6+ years of construction inspection experience on transportation infrastructure projects.
CTDOT CE&I
experience, including 4+ years field inspection. Strong knowledge of highway, bridge, facilities and railroad construction methods, materials, specifications, and inspection procedures. Ability to read and interpret permits, plans, specifications, shop drawings, and contract documents. Experience preparing daily reports and maintaining detailed project documentation. Experience with CTDOT project management and construction documentation systems (AASHTOWare, COMPASS) preferred. Additional
NICET, NETTCP, ACI, ATTSA, QCIS, CESSWI
certifications preferred.
Compensation:
The approximate compensation range for this position is $115,000 - $175,000. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
