Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking an architectural & interior general inspector to support a project for a leading engineering and construction client. This individual will be responsible for inspecting architectural & interiors of buildings (vertical construction), reviewing contractor work for compliance with project specifications, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout construction and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with architectural and interior as well as a background supporting quality assurance on large commercial, institutional, or federal construction projects
  • Conduct daily field inspections to verify architectural and interior finishes are installed in accordance with contract documents, approved submittals, shop drawings, and project specifications
  • Review and track architectural submittals, RFIs, material samples, and finish schedules to ensure compliance with design intent and university standards
  • Coordinate with contractors, architects, facilities teams, and project managers to identify and resolve quality deficiencies, constructability issues, and installation discrepancies
  • Perform inspections of drywall, ceilings, flooring, painting, millwork, doors and hardware, signage, furnishings, and other interior architectural elements throughout construction
  • Maintain detailed QA/QC documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, deficiency reports, punch lists, and photographic records using platforms such as Procore or Bluebeam
  • Verify contractor compliance with approved quality control plans, building codes, accessibility requirements (ADA), life-safety standards, and design guidelines. Skills and Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
  • 8+ years of construction experience with a focus on QA/QC, inspection, or oversight of architectural/interior systems
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Understanding of construction means, methods, and quality control procedures
  • Experience supporting federal, government, military, or higher education construction projects.
