NV5 is an ENR Top 500 firm; we offer a full range of professional services in offices throughout the U.S. We are looking for a SUE Technician III to support the Survey group. Responsibilities Primary responsibilities of this job include: designating and locating underground utilities such as water, gas, sewer force main, fiber, telephone, and electric. Supervise and manage underground utility projects for clients such as FDOT, private developers and construction companies Coordinate with clients and survey personnel to obtain existing documentation (utility records, construction plans, as-builts, RGB's, surveys, etc) on underground utilities Select and apply radio-detection, geophysical and other equipment to designate public and private underground utility lines Utilize vacuum excavation equipment to expose underground utilities Coordinate with clients, utility owners, property owners, etc. in the field Follow all applicable safety standards
Qualifications Education/Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years experience as a SUE Crew Chief/Technician High School diploma Good communication skills
Certifications/Licenses:
Posses and/or obtain all required safety certifications Must pass mandatory DMV check Work environment and physical demands of this position The characteristics described below are representative of those encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. This position will be subject to indoor and outside environmental conditions, including weather conditions such as wet and /or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments. Work will primarily be in the field involving long term standing and frequent walking as well as include common hazards at construction and project sites. Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to walk over rough and uneven terrain and be able to stand up to 10-12 hours a day on occasion. Must have the ability to see, smell, hear, talk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel and twist, crouch, crawl, reach, grasp, sit, stand, and walk. Weekend and overtime work and/or overnight work and travel may be required. Additional physical duties may be required as necessary.
