Construction Coordinator I (Entry-Level Construction Inspector / Project Coordinator) Panama City Beach /Destin, FL Launch Your Career in Construction Management O'Connell & Associates Consulting Engineers is seeking a motivated Construction Coordinator I to join our growing Contract Administration team. If you're interested in construction inspection, project management, commercial construction, waterproofing, building envelope systems, engineering, and quality control , this is an outstanding opportunity to begin your career while working alongside experienced professionals on some of the most exciting projects throughout Northwest Florida. Whether you're a recent graduate in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Architecture , or simply looking to begin a career in the construction industry, we provide the training, mentorship, and real-world project experience needed to help you grow. What You'll Do As a Construction Coordinator I, you'll assist our Contract Administration team by monitoring active construction projects to ensure work is completed in accordance with: Construction drawings Project specifications Building codes Contract requirements Manufacturer installation requirements Local ordinances You'll gain valuable field experience on a variety of residential and commercial projects while working with owners, architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
Typical responsibilities include:
Review construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to develop a thorough understanding of project requirements. Perform quality control inspections throughout various phases of construction. Inspect materials, workmanship, and installed products for compliance with project documents. Document field observations and prepare inspection reports. Make recommendations regarding construction quality and contract compliance. Attend project meetings and communicate project progress with clients and contractors. Assist with reviewing project schedules, milestones, and overall project performance. Help ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet client expectations. Work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong attention to detail.
Qualifications:
0-2 years of construction, engineering, inspection, or related experience Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or a related field preferred but not required OSHA 10 Certification preferred but not required Experience or coursework involving: Commercial construction Waterproofing systems Building envelope systems Construction inspection Quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)
Physical Requirements:
This position involves active field work on construction sites.
Candidates should be comfortable with:
Walking construction sites for extended periods Climbing stairs, ladders, ramps, and scaffolding Working from roofs, balconies, swing stages, and elevated work areas Crawling, kneeling, crouching, and stooping Reaching overhead and below shoulder level Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds Driving between project sites
