•You can apply online at www.leesburgflorida.gov The purpose of the class is to perform technical inspection services for utility and construction projects within the City. The class is responsible for quality control inspection of construction work both in the planning (site review) phase and work in progress to ensure quality work will be and is being performed by contractors in accordance with City specifications, engineers plans, local ordinances, state & national codes. Individual needs to exercise considerable tact, and possess an ability to elicit cooperation from others. Unimpeachable honesty and integrity are demanded of this class. Requires a High School Diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) at time of hire. Requires minimum of one year of experience in construction of underground utility systems and drafting skills preferred . Must be able to read and interpret construction specification sheets and blueprints. Utility Construction Inspection coursework review and GIS/GPS software and equipment locator training will be mandatory after hire. May be assigned to shift work, may be required to work weekends and holidays, and may be required to respond to after hour calls. Requires a valid State of Florida Driver's License and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment. Special skills or equipment certification may be required.
