Long Term Contract with Volks Resources Position Summary Volks Resources is seeking an experienced OSP Inspector to support underground fiber optic construction projects in Port St. Lucie, Florida. The OSP Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are completed safely, meet customer specifications, comply with local regulations, and adhere to quality standards. This position requires extensive field presence, coordination with contractors, and documentation of construction progress. Key Responsibilities Perform daily inspections of underground fiber optic construction projects. Monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project specifications, engineering drawings, and safety standards. Inspect trenching, directional boring, conduit placement, handholes, vaults, and restoration work. Verify proper installation of fiber optic infrastructure and materials. Ensure work complies with local, state, and federal regulations, including permit requirements. Identify construction deficiencies and work with contractors to resolve issues promptly. Maintain detailed daily inspection reports, progress updates, and photographic documentation. Verify as-built documentation and field changes. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, utility owners, municipalities, and contractors. Attend project meetings and provide construction status updates. Monitor production schedules and report delays or risks. Ensure quality control throughout all phases of construction. Perform acceptance inspections and punch list verification prior to project closeout. Required Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of OSP inspection or telecommunications construction experience. Strong knowledge of underground fiber optic construction methods. Ability to interpret construction drawings, permits, and utility plans. Working knowledge of NESC, OSHA, and local utility construction standards. Strong communication and documentation skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience using field reporting applications and mobile devices. Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to travel throughout the Port St. Lucie area as needed.
