Overview TRC is seeking a Distribution Technician to assist with inspecting power distribution poles for our clients. TRC is currently hiring a Distribution Field Technician. This position will be working within our Power Distribution Engineering team and a part of our growing Power Sector. This position is responsible for performing visual inspection of overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment, compilation field data collection, minor work order preparation, and maintenance reports of distribution equipment. Provide assistance with storm damage assessments to OH and UG distribution structures and equipment for areas in and out of state. Responsibilities Design and prepare independently, construction orders related to overhead, underground facilities associated with electric distribution systems applying prescribed standards, guides, specifications and procedures. Apply the client's standards, guidelines, specifications, practices and procedures or appropriate industry standards in preparing layouts of overhead and/or underground electric distribution facilities. Prepare design sketches, cost estimates, bill of materials and any other required documents and reports for construction and maintenance projects. Assist in the performance of load studies on distribution transformers, investigate circuit overloads and voltage complaints to determine necessary corrective action. Contact landowners and/or their agents, to negotiate agreement of Rights of Way (easements) for proposed utility equipment. Obtain necessary contact and tax map information for easement processing. Prepare and submit required reports and correspondence. Assist in the acquisition of field data. Assist in the gathering of information from field notes. Perform tasks such as digitizing, copying and scanning of drawings, prints and maps. Utilize client and company information systems to track and update design activities. Follow Code of Safe Practices as outlined in the company safety policies. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent. Familiarity with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) or utility experience is preferred. Knowledge of computers and software applications desired (MS Office products) preferred. Clean and valid Driver's license required.
