Construction Inspector for Crestline Engineers, Inc.
About Crestline Engineers:
Crestline Engineers is a multi-disciplined consulting engineering firm providing civil engineering services throughout the State of Idaho. We focus our efforts within rural, mountain and resort communities while offering a full spectrum of planning, design, environmental and construction management services to meet our client's specific needs. Our areas of expertise include but are not limited to the following: 1. Environmental Design and Planning 2. Erosion & Sediment Control and Permitting 3. Land Planning and Development Including Permitting 4. Site Grading and Drainage Design Including Earthwork Analysis 5. Street/Roadway Design and Transportation Planning 6. Water Distribution and Sanitary Sewer Collection Design 7.
Construction Management Including Contract Administration and Observation/Inspection Job Details:
As a construction inspector, you will monitor on-site construction activities and inspecting material to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract documents. Your duties will include evaluation work related to excavations, drainage systems, road surfaces, and structural components. In addition, performance of field measurements and calculations, preparing detail inspection reports; and tracking contractor production rates. Position requires documentation of inspection phases with the contractor's superintendent, agency personnel based on support project procedures - particularly in developing documentation for the final estimate package. This role reports to the project manager and project administrator; playing a critical part in maintaining construction quality, accuracy, and adherence to technical standards and specific to final design.

Job Duties:
  • Monitoring on-site construction activities and inspecting.
  • Inspect, observe, and document construction activities to ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and field measurements to verify completed work and support payment processes.
  • Maintain daily inspection reports detailing contractor labor, equipment usage and material quantities received and verified.
  • Conduct on-site material testing and produce as-constructed sketches as required.
  • Assist with design-related tasks, technical analyses, and field duties for transportation.
  • Coordinate material testing and inspection activities with contractors and client partners to ensure adherence to schedules and contractual obligations.
  • Aid in organizing tasks and responsibilities for field inspection personnel.
  • Participate in the review and assessment of change order logs, requests for information (RFI's).
Job Requirements:
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1-5 years of construction inspection and management experience required.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software.
  • Must have valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Also, you must have own vehicle w/current insurance and registration.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications and pass appropriate qualification tests within specified time frames.
  • This field position primarily operates in outdoor environments, which may include exposing to inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazards, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
  • Physical demands may include frequent talking, hearing, standing, moving, walking, stooping and occasionally sitting or operating a company vehicle
  • May require lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
