Job Description

The City of Burnsville is recruiting for a Building Safety Inspector (Plumbing) position. We are seeking a skilled professional with strong plumbing knowledge and construction experience to perform residential and commercial inspections, review plans, and ensure compliance with state and local codes. This recruitment may be used to fill either a Building Safety Inspector I or II position based on qualifications, experience, and certifications. Applicants only need to submit one application to be considered for both levels. Join our Community Development Department and work collaboratively with residents, contractors, and City departments to promote safe, quality construction throughout the community.
Salary Range:
$46.35 - $61.14/hour ($96,408 - $127,171.20 annually), DOQ. Applications received by August 9, 2026, will receive first consideration.
