This position serves as a field safety partner to operations by ensuring compliance with OSHA, customer requirements, and company safety policies while promoting a culture where every employee returns home safely each day. The Aerial Field Safety Representative will spend the majority of their time in the field conducting safety observations, coaching line crews, auditing work practices, investigating incidents, and supporting supervisors in maintaining a safe work environment. This role requires extensive knowledge of overhead electric distribution construction, energized work practices, and utility safety standards. Essential Responsibilities Conduct daily safety inspections of overhead electric utility construction and maintenance projects. Monitor employee compliance with company safety policies, work methods, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements. Verify proper use and inspection of rubber insulating gloves, sleeves, hot sticks, live-line tools, grounding equipment, and other protective equipment. Observe energized and de-energized work practices to ensure adherence to approved procedures. Ensure proper establishment of Minimum Approach Distances (MAD), equipotential grounding, and lockout/tagout procedures. Audit traffic control setups in accordance with MUTCD and customer requirements. Review and evaluate Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), Tailboard Meetings, and Daily Job Briefings. Conduct incident, injury, vehicle accident, and near-miss investigations and prepare comprehensive reports with corrective actions. Coach supervisors and field employees on hazard recognition, human performance principles, and safe work practices. Conduct new employee safety orientations and deliver ongoing safety training. Participate in customer safety meetings, audits, and regulatory inspections. Track corrective actions and ensure deficiencies are resolved promptly. Support storm restoration activities by providing field safety oversight during emergency response operations. Assist operations management in developing site-specific safety plans and risk mitigation strategies. Monitor subcontractor compliance with company and customer safety expectations. Promote continuous improvement by identifying trends, recommending corrective measures, and recognizing safe behaviors. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
