Jefferson City Project Office, 5617 Red Eagle Drive, Jefferson City, MO 65109 Why you'll love this position: The construction intern inspects routine construction items for conformance to plans, specifications, special provisions, and terms of the contract. Responsibilities are performed under moderate supervision. Responsibilities - What you'll do Assist with coordinating and performing construction inspections verifying that contractors' activities are in compliance with contracts, specifications, and engineering principles. Assist construction inspectors with routine inspection items, such as asphaltic or portland cement concrete plants, asphaltic or concrete paving, including grading and base, small bridges, concrete box and pipe culverts; general or specific items, such as utility adjustments, signing, traffic signals and lighting. Assist with performing measurements, computations, or other work in preparing final plans, change orders, contractor payment estimates, and engineering costs. Provide field checks for contractor surveying operations; assist party chief on routine layout and staking. Perform other duties as assigned.Special Working Conditions:
Some night work may be required. Qualifications - All you need for success All you need for success: Minimum Qualifications Enrolled in a relevant ABET-accredited bachelor's or post-bachelor's degree program full-time (12+ credit hours). 30 credit hours completed/accepted toward current degree program. High school or other postsecondary program credits must be shown to be accepted by the current program through a degree transcript to apply. Possess and maintain an overall GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.0, or equivalent.
