Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Building and Code Inspector to join our team, dedicated to ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of City of Monett Code and construction projects. In this role, you will conduct thorough inspections of construction sites, review technical plans, and verify adherence to building and City codes and safety regulations. This position also proactively monitors, investigates complaints and identifies Code violations and issues violation notices. Your expertise will help maintain high standards across projects, ensuring that infrastructure is built to last and meets all regulatory requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to vital community developments while working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications. Review construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and adherence to design intent. Conduct quality control assessments and construction quality inspections throughout various phases of projects. Monitor public infrastructure construction projects, including roads, bridges, pipelines, and other civil works, ensuring timely and compliant progress. Collect data during inspections, document findings accurately, and prepare detailed reports for project managers and regulatory agencies. Interpret technical documents such as construction specifications and schematics to identify potential issues or deviations from standards. Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project teams to address non-compliance issues promptly and effectively. Pro-actively monitors entirety of City limits- where applicable - for code violations and issues written notices to the person or persons responsible for the property, when a violation has been determined. Respond to and investigate complaints initiated by residents regarding property maintenance issues. Skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite for report writing, data analysis, and documentation management. Extensive construction site experience with a focus on public works or civil infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of construction regulations, building codes, safety regulations, and quality inspection procedures. Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints reading skills, and understanding of construction plans and specifications. Experience in construction management practices including contracts administration and project oversight. Excellent analysis skills for assessing construction quality inspections and identifying compliance issues. Pay:
$50,960.00 - $57,740.00 per year
