Job Description

Utility Locators locate and mark underground utilities to help prevent damage during excavation and construction activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Locate and mark underground cables, pipes, and other utilities using locating equipment, GPS, maps, blueprints, and other available resources. Read and interpret utility maps, prints, drawings, and work orders. Document completed locates, site conditions, and utility information using tablets or paper records. Communicate with contractors, property owners, customers, and the public as needed. Follow 811 procedures, company policies, and all applicable safety requirements. Inspect and maintain locating equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. High school diploma or GED. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and communicate professionally. Comfortable using tablets, GPS devices, and locating equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous utility locating, construction, surveying, or related field experience. Familiarity with 811 procedures and applicable dig laws.
