SALARY RANGE
: $82,452 - $100,200/Comprehensive benefits package
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
: The Department of Inspections/Planning has an opportunity for a results-driven individual with strong communication skills and the ability to deal tactfully with customers and the general public. Applicants should possess considerable knowledge of sound construction practices and related building codes, laws and ordinances to perform technical work inspecting residential and commercial buildings for compliance. Qualified candidates will possess a Standard Level III Certificate and considerable experience in HVAC, plumbing, building, and electrical trades and a valid NC Driver License. This position is responsible for maintaining efficiency in the daily operations of the department, maintaining accurate and timely records, and assisting in the management and mentoring of personnel.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent with moderate experience in construction and possession of Level III Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing certifications are requirements; an associate's degree in a related construction field is preferred.
