Job Description
We are looking for an Inspector (Construction Observation) to inspect construction, facilities and structures to ensure soundness and compliance with engineering plans and specifications, safety and appropriate regulations for civil engineering and public works projects. Provide direct feedback daily or as needed to the Design Engineer and client. Projects may include but will not be limited to water distribution system projects; sewer collection system projects; wastewater treatment plants and pumping station projects; elevated storage tank projects; land development projects; and horizontal directional drilling projects.
Responsibilities:
Conduct, accurately record and maintain records of tests and inspections of construction, facilities, products, services, or processes to evaluate compliance, quality, or performance. Observation and complete interviews of construction personnel on job site identifying compliance or noncompliance of work performed. Observe and monitor all types of civil engineering and public works projects to include water distribution system projects, sewer collection system projects, wastewater treatment plants and pumping station projects, elevated storage tank projects, land development projects, and horizontal directional drilling projects. Determine causes of operating errors and deciding on solutions. Maintaining logs and supplement inspection records with photographs. Review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance to standards, legal requirements and safety regulations.Skills:
Construction Observation Knowledge with 2+ years' experience preferred Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred Attention to detail Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to meet strict deadlines Ability to communicate effectively via email, telephone, and in-person with individuals and teams Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS Outlook in particular)Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Standing outside company truck observing work at all times construction workers are on job site Sitting in vehicle while commuting up to four (4) hours a day to job sites. Work in various outdoor weather conditions Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distractingDisclaimer:
