We're looking for a versatile Civil Engineering graduate who wants to do more than one thing — someone who can support projects, coordinate across teams, and help keep the whole company running. About the job We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector with a strong background in geotechnical engineering, subsurface investigations, pile installation, and construction oversight. The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring field operations, ensuring compliance with project specifications, and maintaining quality and safety standards throughout all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities Perform inspection and oversight of geotechnical and construction activities on infrastructure and civil projects. Monitor subsurface investigations including soil borings, test pits, sampling, and field-testing activities. Review and document geotechnical conditions encountered in the field. Inspect pile installation operations including driven piles, drilled shafts, helical piles, micropiles, and related foundation systems. Verify pile locations, elevations, capacities, installation procedures, and production records in accordance with project specifications. Coordinate with contractors, engineers, laboratories, and project management teams to ensure proper execution of work. Observe excavation, grading, compaction, concrete placement, and earthwork activities. Ensure compliance with approved plans, specifications, safety requirements, and applicable codes/standards. Prepare daily inspection reports, field logs, photographs, and documentation of construction activities. Identify non-conforming work and assist in resolving field issues. Attend project meetings and provide technical field support as needed. Oversee construction activities to ensure quality control and adherence to schedule requirements. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or a related engineering field) Minimum of 4 years of experience in construction inspection and geotechnical field services. Experience with subsurface investigations and geotechnical testing procedures. Experience working on transportation or heavy civil infrastructure projects Strong knowledge of pile installation methods and foundation construction. Familiarity with civil/site construction, concrete, earthwork, and utility installations. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in preparing field reports and documentation. Valid driver's license and ability to travel within a reasonable commuting distance of the project location in Monmouth Junction/Princeton, NJ. Preferred Certifications
