A Senior Electrical Combination Inspector is an essential member of our team and we invite you to apply and help contribute to CNLV'S growing success! This posting will create a non-probationary internal Teamster eligibility list and fill 1 vacancy for this classification. The current vacancy is in the Land Development department. The eligibility list will be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification, for up to one hundred eighty (180) days. Non-probationary Teamster team members successfully completing the selection process will be placed on the eligibility list.   • $59.19. Starting salary is dependent on education, qualifications, and experience. Existing employees will receive increases as outlined by their bargaining agreement. Work Schedule
  • This position is scheduled to work 4 days per week, 9 hours per day (36 hour work week). Must be able to work any shift or days of the week. Environment
  • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise to cause worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals, walking, and working on slippery and uneven surfaces. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: Fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing the essential functions of the position.
THE ROLE
Under general supervision, conducts detailed inspections of electrical systems in building construction and renovation in progress and upon completion to verify continuous compliance with approved plans, specifications and applicable codes and ordinances specializing in electrical inspections. Performs inspections, investigates and analyzes problems and recommends solutions for modifications and repairs to existing complex systems, ensuring safety and compliance, and provides guidance to contractors, builders, and the public. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience High school diploma or GED equivalent; and Five (5) years of practical level experience as a Master Electrician. OSHA 10 Hour Construction must be obtained within fifteen (15) days of date of hire.
Equivalency:
Nine (9) years of journey level experience as a Journeyman Electrician with Journeyman Electrician Certificate issued by a recognized public agency as determined by the Building Official may be substituted for the education and experience required above. Licenses and Certifications Possession of International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Commercial Electrical Inspector at the time of hire. Electrical Plans Examiner certification within one (1) year of hire/reclassification. Commercial Combination Inspector Certifications in Building, Plumbing, and Mechanical within (2) two years of hire/reclassification. Possession of a Master Electrician Certificate issued by a recognized public agency as determined by the Building Official. Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Nevada state driver's license and maintain satisfactory motor vehicle record.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Background check processing may take 2 to 3 months to complete.
Selection/Offers Note:
Subsequent vacancies during the life of the internal eligibility list may require participation in an additional selection interview. The selection interview will be weighted 100%, requiring a passing score of 70% in order to be considered for the subsequent position vacancy. The selection process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The City reserves the right to modify selection devices and test instruments in accordance with accepted legal, ethical, and professional standards.
