Job Description

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and recent graduate with a Civil Engineering degree as a Junior Construction Inspector for a Pedestrian Ramp project in Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York City. This role is focused on ensuring compliance with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects in Brooklyn and Staten Island, New York City by maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout construction. Duties (including but not limited to): Conduct on-site inspections of construction activities to verify adherence to plans, specifications, and safety regulations. Perform quality control and quality inspection tasks to ensure materials and workmanship meet project standards. Analyze construction processes and data collection reports to identify potential issues or deviations from plans. Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and construction documents to guide inspection activities. Monitor construction site progress, document findings, and prepare detailed reports for project management.
Skills/Experience :
Experience/knowledge in/about construction inspection or related roles within the construction industry in regards to Pedestrian Ramps. Ability to utilize computers and programs such as Prism, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to infrastructure projects. Effective communication skills for reporting findings clearly and collaborating with diverse teams. Attention to detail with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality assurance.
Certifications:
OSHA 10 (Preferred, not required) ACI - Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I (Preferred, not required) Bachelors Degree of Civil Engineering (Required) This role provides an excellent foundation for individuals interested in advancing their careers in construction inspection, quality assurance, or project management. The Junior Inspector position is paid and offers valuable hands-on experience in a professional setting.
