The Co-op Program at Jostin Construction is designed to provide you with practical construction industry experience, the chance to work on value-added projects, connect with a mentor in your field of study, network with senior leaders, team members and other co-ops, and so much more. We are looking for students interested in a co-op experience for the Spring, Summer or Fall semesters. We are actively training the next group of leaders and need skilled team members who reflect our core values and culture of safety. As a Co-op, you will be working with full-time construction professionals as they provide guidance and share their expertise on various tasks. The objective of our program is to prepare you for full-time employment in one of the various roles within the industry. You will have specific project responsibilities and daily activities assigned to you that will enable you to experience our industry firsthand. Supervisors and project staff will structure your work efforts to help you learn about your area of interest while you contribute directly to the completion of a quality project. Upon completion of each term, Jostin Construction will host the Co-op Capstone Event. Each co-op will present on the culmination of their learning and experiences during the term. This event also provides co-ops with the opportunity to meet senior management. We are currently seeking passionate students who want to gain experience in construction to join our Jostin Construction family. This student will report to the Project Manager and provide support throughout a construction project. The person in this position needs to have the ability to be flexible as this position may perform various functions throughout the workday. The person in this position will need to be comfortable working in a public setting. Jostin requires all Co-ops and employees to work collaboratively as a team with other Jostin employees and trade partners.KNOWLEDGE
Desire to work in construction management and to learn about construction industry Knowledge of general construction Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices on a construction site Experience with Microsoft Office Suite; Procore or Autodesk Build & Bluebeam is a plus.SKILLS / EXPERIENCE IN
General knowledge of tools and equipment Being flexible and performing various tasks during work shift. Assisting Superintendents and Project Managers Ability to follow and take directions, ask questions, and follow through on commitments Be comfortable working in public settings.QUALIFICATIONS
Pursuing a degree in: Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or any other related program with a focus in the construction industry Valid driver's license Ability to successfully pass a drug screening. The ability to work irregular hours, including weekends when necessary. Arrive at work on time (Allow time for parking, gathering PPE, etc.) The ability to work in harsh weather conditions for extended periods of time. Professional and clear verbal and written communication skills, in English language required Assume personal and professional accountability for own actions and activities Proactive, curious, and eager to learn and participate Able to work independently, with direction and supervision, and in team environment Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detailBenefits
