Job Description

Elevator Inspector Under general supervision, makes inspections of passenger and freight elevators for the purpose of insuring compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations governing their safety and operation. Performs related duties as required.
TYPICAL TASKS
Makes inspections and tests of elevators, safety devices, governors, counter weights, hoisting cables, and other elevator appurtenances for compliance with laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. Determines and records person responsible for the operation of elevators at a premise. Makes investigations in connection with reported violations and complaints. Investigates elevator accidents. Maintains records of inspections made and of findings, and maintains other records. Makes reports of inspections made and of findings. Prepares other reports.

A High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required. three (3) years of full time paid experience in the installation, construction, inspection, or repair of elevators is required. Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of thirty (30) pounds. A valid State of Ohio Driver's License is required.
