Job Description

SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Chief Building Official, the Licensed Building Inspector performs technical duties to enforce building codes within the City of North Ridgeville through on-site inspections of commercial and residential structures in all construction stages to ensure compliance; conduct various administrative duties for all residential and commercial construction activities in accordance with the Ohio Board of Building Standards.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS LICENSED BUILDING INSPECTOR

(ELECTRICAL/COMMERCIAL) High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess the following State of Ohio Board of Building Standards (OBBS) certification(s): o OBBS Level 3 - Electrical Safety Inspector Specialization o OBBS Level 3 - Building Inspector Specialization Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and ability to remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy. Work experience with another governmental inspection agency is desirable. Must have great communication skills and work well with the general public.
