Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Inspect and monitor outside contractors installation of water and wastewater system capital projects according to Company specifications and standards. Primary duties will be to provide or monitor procedures to place water mains, services and related appurtenances in service. 2. Ensure adherence of the Company's safety program on construction projects. Must be familiar with OSHA regulations and work zone safety procedures. 3. Maintain, provide and file record drawings of changes to plans and drawings made during construction. Maintain records of mains, valves, service lines and any other appurtenances installed on capital construction projects. 4. Keep daily project construction inspection reports. Generate and maintain records of quantities installed during projects. Communicate project status and job progression to your supervisor on a daily basis, or as needed. 5. Verify contractor's applications for payment and change order requests. Assist in negotiations with contractors as required. 6. Check proposed construction plans for omissions and/or constructability issues. 7. Capable of professional communication and provide first contact with customers, residents, vendors, municipal officials and regulators concerning their issues that arise due to the construction projects. 8. Complete other administrative and operational duties and provide assistance to other departments as needed and directed by your supervisor. 9. Some out of town travel for AQUA Construction Inspection may be required, including overnight stay for multiple nights and/or weeks at a time.
SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or equivalent. Two years of technical education beyond high school is necessary (Associates Degree in Construction Technology or an associated field is preferred). In lieu of two years of technical education, two years of experience in the above areas may be considered. Successful candidate must have construction inspection experience and superior organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills. Must be proficient in interpretation of design drawings, construction technology and the use of a computer for word processing, spreadsheet applications, e-mail, and AQUA programs such as GIS, AIMS, Procore, etc. Must also maintain a PA DEP Class E license, or obtain the License within twenty-four (24) months from date of hire. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be available for overtime.
Pay:
$58,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
