Depending On Qualifications:

Responsibilities:

Ø Perform one or more of the following: commercial building code (non-structural), fire code, mechanical code, life safety, accessibility, energy, and electrical plan reviews to verify code compliance with applicable codes and standards. May be required to perform inspections for each discipline qualified for. Ø Attain various certifications and participate in continuing education. Ø Maintain professional and timely communication with clients and customers Ø Ability to provide a high level of customer service, manage multiple priorities, demonstrate attention to detail, and meet deadlines. Ø This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ø May assist in special consulting projects.

Education:

Ø High school diploma or equivalent. Ø Classes in related degree programs preferred. Ø College experience/degree preferred.

Experience Preferred:

Ø The ideal candidate will have 2 or more years of experience performing commercial and/or residential building plans examinations. Ø ICC certification as a Plan Examiner and/or Inspector required or ability to obtain within 12 months of date of hire. Ø Knowledge of ICC or NFPA codes. Ø Ability to perform building inspections. Ø Construction knowledge or experience. Ø Knowledge of Microsoft 365 with Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ø Electronic plan review experience. Ø Ability to climb ladders and navigate construction sites. Ø Ability to crawl on hands and knees to access low headroom spaces. Ø Ability to walk for long periods of time, including climbing multiple flights of stairs.
