Through proactive quality oversight, inspections, and collaboration from design through commissioning, this position helps prevent costly rework, reduce risk, support project success, and uphold URE's reputation for delivering high-quality renewable energy projects.

Core Responsibilities:
    Quality Assurance & Compliance:

    Perform QA/QC inspections throughout all phases of utility-scale solar construction and verify compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, manufacturer requirements for PV modules, inverters, trackers, transformers and associated electrical equipment, and applicable codes and standards (NEC, IBC, OSHA, UL, IEEE, IEC, and utility requirements).

      Field Inspections & Verification:

      Conduct detailed field inspections of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning work to ensure installations meet quality standards and contractual requirements.

        Design Review & Pre-Construction Support:

        Review civil, structural, and electrical design documents, equipment submittals, and technical specifications to identify constructability concerns, quality risks, and compliance issues before construction begins.

          Documentation & Reporting:

          Develop and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs), quality control checklists, inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), punch lists, and detailed photographic documentation.

            Commissioning Support:

            Assist with commissioning activities, including functional testing, performance verification, startup procedures, turnover documentation, and project closeout activities.

              Safety Leadership:

              Promote and enforce URE's Environmental, Health and Safety policies while ensuring compliance with all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and safe work practices.

                Energized Equipment Work:

                Demonstrate the ability to work safely in and around energized equipment while adhering to all electrical safety protocols and PPE requirements.

                NFPA 70E

                certification is required within one month of employment.

                  Quality Systems Management:

                  Utilize Procore, Smartsheet, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel to manage inspection records, track corrective actions, monitor project status, and maintain quality documentation.

                    Performance Monitoring & Analytics:

                    Track and analyze quality metrics, defect trends, rework rates, and contractor performance to identify improvement opportunities and support project success.

                      Stakeholder Collaboration:

                      Partner with project managers, site leadership, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and regulatory agencies to align quality expectations and resolve quality- related issues.

                        Training & Coaching:

                        Deliver QA/QC training, toolbox talks, and on-site guidance to project teams and subcontractors on installation standards, inspection requirements, and quality best practices.

                          Process Improvement & Standardization:

                          Contribute to the development and enhancement of QA/QC procedures, templates, workflows, lessons learned, and best practices to improve consistency and efficiency across projects.

                            Industry Knowledge & Professional Development:

                            Maintain current knowledge of solar construction practices, emerging technologies, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality management best practices through ongoing training and professional development.

                              Issue Resolution & Project Support:

                              Respond promptly to quality-related inquiries, drive corrective actions, and support project teams in delivering projects on schedule, within specifications, and to the highest quality standards.

                                Additional Duties:

                                Perform other duties as assigned or requested to support project success and organizational goals. What You Bring (Qualifications):

                                • Understanding construction quality management principles and experience implementing QA/QC programs on industrial or renewable energy projects.
                                • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, civil drawings, mechanical assembly details, and equipment technical specifications.
                                • Strong communication and training skills to effectively convey technical requirements to diverse field personnel and subcontractor teams.
                                • Flexible schedule and the ability to prioritize tasks, with strong capability to manage travel and office responsibilities efficiently.
                                • Knowledge of how to operate various hand tools necessary for critical inspection and verification tasks.
                                • Experience with or ability to quickly learn Procore construction management software and Smartsheet for project documentation, quality management workflows, and collaborative project tracking.
                                Training/Certification Requirements:
                                • You will need to obtain your OSHA 30 and
                                NFPA 70E

                                certifications within one month of employment.

                                • If a valid CPR and First Aid certificate is not held, URE will make training arrangements including payment. Completion will be required within the first two months of employment.
                                • A training plan to obtain the required certifications and increase your knowledge and office software skills will be provided following your first day of employment.
                                Work Location & Flexibility:

                                We believe in autonomy and trust. This position offers a flexible remote/home office structure.

                                  Travel Schedule:

                                  Expect approximately 75% travel to project sites, with occasional travel to the Asheville, NC. The remainder is spent working from your home office.

                                    Geographic Preference:
